What makes The School Transfer Company different from property companies and general agents?

Someone asked me the other day what made The School Transfer Company different from property companies and general agents.

The answers are:

1) That we actually own an Independent School and we have also established and continue to run a Day Nursery.  So we actually know what the day-to-day issues in schools and day nurseries are; and we know what our clients are talking about.

2) Another very important difference is that we negotiate – in an effective and civilised way – on behalf of our clients, the vendors.  We don’t just introduce buyers and leave our vendors to get on with it.  This costs time and money and our commissions (only upon sale) reflect this.

3) Another difference is that we were the first company acting in this way in this market and with the original name School Transfer Consultants (now The School Transfer Company).  Imitation is the sincerest (but creepiest) form of flattery.

4) Finally, we only ever act for educational businesses – though we are happy to advise buyers without charge.  We do not accept any retainers from buyers.  We cannot act fairly on both sides of the fence:  our clients would worry.
