Our Bunch

The same five people have run STC, The School Transfer Company, for many years. We never employ temporary staff and all of us are interested in you and your business. So you should never have to start at the beginning when you call us on 01474 833150.

Peers and Susan Carter. Founder partners. Peers had a long career as a copywriter and creative director in advertising. Susan was a journalist and editor. Together we bought an independent school which was about to close. Our daughter was there and it was a happy place so we stepped in to save it. When we had expanded the school, we approached a reputable local estate agent in strictest confidence to value our premises and find new and better ones.

The result was that rumours spread and grew, nearly killing the school. That’s when we decided to start a new company, The School Transfer Company (STC), to handle such matters with care and discretion. Later we set up a day nursery. We have grown STC since 1986.

Geoff and Christine Spain. Geoff used to be an IT manager at BT and handles administration and accounts. Christine used to work for The Foreign and Commonwealth Office and has been our PA for over 20 years.

Rob Heywood used to run the IT for a major Plc. He handles administration and databasing and is always remarkably calm, organised and helpful.
